Flange Facing Machine Solves Challenging Pipe Beveling Task for Nuclear Industry

This enhancement allowed the machine to carry out bevel cutting with a vertical automatic feed function from the flange facing machine's tool post. While the process is slower than conventional methods, it provides an exceptional surface finish—reaching a roughness value of Ra1.6 or even higher. This high surface quality is especially crucial in industries such as nuclear power, where precision is critical.

The client sent a sample of the pipe, made of 316L stainless steel, to MT Portable Machine for testing. After extensive testing and adjustment, the team successfully completed the bevel machining. The results exceeded the client’s expectations, proving that the combination of the extended tool holder and the FI60E Flange Facing Machine was the perfect solution for this complex task.
