The 2024 presidential election is right around the corner and the candidates need the black vote more than ever before. This is our chance to have our voices heard and to let all parties know that we will never be taken for granted again. No longer will they only think of us during election season. They will think of us every day of their political lives.

Join us the week of September 23, 2024, for “The African American Agenda and Vote 2024” townhall where you will see the candidates answer questions posed to them by members of the African American community.

If they want our vote, we must make sure that we get something in return unlike previous years where everyone gets something but us. Allegiance to a particular candidate or party makes it far too easy for our vote to be taken for granted by those who expect it or our issues ignored by those who don’t.

There is no doubt that our people have made significant progress through the sacrifice of our blood, sweat, and tears over centuries. However, the truth is that progress is not nearly enough and we continue to be blocked from achieving the respect, safety, opportunity, and prosperity we so richly deserve. Our community owns about the same percentage of wealth that we did in 1850, 15 years before the end of the civil war. Black home ownership is lower now than it was before the Fair Housing Act of 1968. We are disproportionately and unfairly targeted and killed by police and over sentenced by the courts. In every measure regarding life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness we suffer injustice. This truth is something we can no longer accept in any form. We must collectively determine and demand our own agenda.

We must vote for the candidates who will adopt our agenda and live up to the campaign promises made to our community. The candidate who will not forget about us after we give them our vote. If they fail to do so while in office, they must know that our vote and our dollars will no longer be for them. It is time to let all politicians know that we are not voting out of fear or loyalty or based on misinformation. We are organizing and voting for our agenda and we will hold any and every politician accountable who stands in our way.

We will be hosting several preparatory events leading up to the town hall that will address issues for our agenda, voting strategy , fact checking of candidates, and the power of organizing through the black church and Afrocentric organizations during the months of July and August.

If we give them our vote, we must get something in return.

This is an all-hands-on deck event for an all hands on deck moment, and we need to hear from you! Please take our survey and submit a question that you feel needs to be asked of the candidates.

You can submit your question and pre-register for The African American Agenda and Vote 2024 townhall scheduled for the week of September 23, 2024 and preparatory events by clicking on "Green" button at the top of the page.

Join us as we give honor to our ancestors and create a better future for our children by taking our fate into our own hands.
