The correct selection method of polyurethane foaming machine

There are many types of polyurethane foaming machines on the market, with various brands, shapes and names, and new brands and names are constantly being launched. The numerous models dazzle producers and lead to the wrong choice of models. In order to facilitate producers to correctly choose foaming machines, let's talk about the selection method of foaming machines.

1. Fully understand the types of foaming machines

Although the basic principle of foaming machines is to introduce gas into the foaming agent aqueous solution, different types of foaming machines introduce gas in different ways. Knowing the type of foaming machine will tell you its air-induction method, which is very helpful for further understanding its technical characteristics and performance, and helps producers to grasp the overall situation.

For example, the low-speed stirring type relies on slow rotating blades to introduce gas, with small bubble production and low foaming efficiency; the high-speed impeller type relies on high-speed rotating impellers to introduce gas, the bubble diameter cannot be controlled, and the foam is uneven; the high-pressure and medium-low pressure types have fast foaming speed, high efficiency, and uniform and small bubbles.

After knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each type of foaming machine, it is easy to choose a foaming machine. Therefore, fully understanding the types of foaming machines is crucial for producers to correctly choose foaming machines.

2. Carefully master the basic technical parameters of the foaming machine

For producers, it is not enough to just understand the machine model and foaming principle. They also need to further understand several important technical parameters of the foaming machine to determine whether they meet their production requirements. The technical parameters of the MC-600 foaming machine developed by Jinan Meichen Building Materials Machinery Co., Ltd. are shown in Table 1.

1) Output: The output is the amount of foam produced. This amount must be slightly higher than the amount of foam required by 20% to leave room. The amount of foam produced should be calculated based on the lower limit, not the upper limit;

2) Installed capacity: The installed capacity is the total installed power. This parameter is of great significance for calculating the adaptability of electrical circuits to the total power consumption;

3) Equipment size: This parameter is a necessary factor in the overall layout planning of the workshop;

4) Bubble diameter range: Generally, it should be compared according to the requirements of the specific product for the bubble diameter.

3. Carefully understand the foaming quality

The ultimate product of the foaming machine is foam, and what we need in the production process is also foam. Therefore, the quality of foam is the only criterion for judging the performance of the foaming machine. The foaming quality of the foaming machine should be judged based on three aspects, namely, foam fineness, foam uniformity, and foam water exudation.

Foam fineness refers to the size of the bubble diameter. The smaller the bubble diameter, the finer and denser the foam, the better the stability of the foam, the higher the strength of the product produced, and the better the thermal insulation performance.

Foam uniformity means that the bubble diameter should be uniform. The more uniform the bubble diameter, the narrower the distribution range, the more uniform the stress on the product, and the better the use effect.

Foam water exudation refers to the amount of foaming agent aqueous solution produced after the foam breaks. The lower the foam water exudation, the lower the foam water content, indicating that the foaming performance of the foaming machine is better.

Whether the foaming machine can meet the requirements in the above three aspects should be confirmed and verified through a test machine. When choosing a foaming machine, it is required that the foam produced by the foaming machine must be sponge-like fine foam with more bubbles and less water, and it must be uniform and delicate.
