Origins and History:
The Lemba have a strong oral tradition that traces their lineage back to the Middle East, possibly Yemen, and claims they are descendants of Jewish exiles. They believe their ancestors migrated from a place called Sena, which is suggested to have been in Yemen, specifically in the Ḥaḍramawt region. There is also a belief among some Lemba that their ancestors were involved in the construction of Great Zimbabwe.
