Honestly, we were taught in school that only white men were behind the groundbreaking inventions that shaped our world. But I've recently discovered the incredible contributions of Black innovators and inventors who paved the way for future generations!
1. _George Washington Carver_ - Peanut Butter (1895)
Developed over 300 products from peanuts, including peanut butter.
2. _Madam C.J. Walker_ - Hair Straightening Process (1905)
Invented a line of hair care products for African American hair.
3. _Granville Woods_ - Electric Trolley System (1888)
Improved the electric trolley system, making it more efficient.
4. _Elijah McCoy_ - Automatic Lubricator (1872)
Invented a device that automatically lubricated train engines.
5. _Daniel Hale Williams_ - Open-Heart Surgery (1893)
Performed the first successful open-heart surgery.
6. _Garrett Morgan_ - Traffic Light (1923)
Invented the first traffic light, improving road safety.
7. _Norbert Rillieux_ - Sugar Refining Process (1834)
Invented a more efficient process for refining sugar.
