Narcissistic abuse will damage your sense of self, reality, and even emotional safety. You may believe that you are overly sensitive or blow things out of proportion.

Also, you may even be hesitant to label your experience as abusive at all, especially if there is no physical abuse present. And, you may question your reality and find yourself isolated from your friends and loved ones.

As a result, the importance of a support group for recovery from narcissistic relationships cannot be overstated.

Having a support group is beneficial because you can learn the signs of abuse. Similarly, you can gain a better understanding of what you experienced, hear other stories that validate your own, and get support from others by sharing your experiences.

Moreover, it helps you check your reality, remember your identity, and remember that you are safe and not alone. You can establish a sense of community and connection with others who have survived narcissistic abuse.

Lastly, when you are in a support group, you don't have to deal with the shame and guilt of having been in a narcissistic relationship because survivors understand that things that happened during the relationship had nothing to do with you.
