  Nashville saw its first case of the “Spanish flu” in late September 1918. By November, 1,300 had died — 1 percent of the city’s population.
  
  The influenza would kill almost 700,000 in the United States and 50 million globally. It was the worst pandemic in modern history. Amid the dramatic lifestyle changes brought by the worldwide coronavirus outbreak, the experience of Christians more than a century ago is worth revisiting.
  
  As the flu spread across the U.S. in the late fall and early winter of 1918, theaters, schools, businesses and churches closed their doors for weeks. The Tennessee Health Department advised churches to suspend their Sunday meetings for Oct. 20 and 27. No one protested, and 92 churches complied.
  
  However, the Russell Street Church of Christ in Nashville did not close its doors. The church approached the Red Cross with an offer of help. Their building became a temporary hospital because the city hospitals were turning away people. The Russell Street members, along with the Eleventh Street and Chapel Avenue congregations, poured their monetary and human resources into feeding and nursing the poor. The influenza epidemic, as A. B. Lipscomb wrote in the Gospel Advocate, had “opened up a way for the enlargement of the sympathies of Christian people.”

  “Cages in the basement of the Capitol bldging..is everybody a Switchhitter up there?” He shook his head and said, “ I’d like to think it couldn’t get annny worse. But it will. God said there would be unparalleled horrors. We gotta think about survival. I’d like the compound concept..” I got my books, Some notes & laptop out of my backpack and sat down. “ O.K. The compound. I got 1 acre” he said “In or out of city limits. Once the constitution is scraped there will be new laws. Gotta consider that. What about housing?” I said “The housing..we could do shipping containers and build up instead of out we could outfit one in 30 days. Establish water supply, desalination, uh, a grill/open fire pit we can prepare large meals. Everybody gotta have something to bring to the table from water, Flour, sugar, all organic & organic seeds, to tech skills, nursing, somebody w/ a culinary bkground, Dentist, Veterinarian, we need fencing, weapons, small gardens that everyone chips in on. Gonna need solar energy, a mill, fishing gear, Vits/herbs somebody needs to study that, transportation, blankets, fabric, dishes/utensils, buckets.. just, stuff” He looked at the screen & said “The ppl. What about the legit. Ppl u can trust. WHO see the vision. And still, when they introduce the God of Amerikkka, the Better Bible…They lettin’ that ole trump let you know exactly what’s comin’ for Blk folk. Lettin’ him talk like Hitler freely. Yeah. We gotta get outta here.”

  Small, predominantly white town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mtns., 20 years ago, they said they weren’t interested in crafting ideas for the young ppl. They really meant young BLKPOC. A lotta millionaires who send their kids away & the kids don’t come back unless they FUC up. It was suggested a CNA program for example which BLKPOC females show up more for. Nope, nope. Bad idea they said. Just because the nursing homes are full w/ a rapidly aging, sickly population there’s no reason to take preemptive measures.” There is a waiting list for homes aka sanitariums so they started a 2 week CNA program. So, anywho, I tried a garden, in containers to transplant, organic soil/fertilizer, bottled water in March, inside initially. By May I started rain water instead. Out of 70 plants (organic green onions, kale, spinach, Arugula, gourd, cantaloupe, watermelons, etc)., I gave up last week when frost hit. A neighbor tried corn again. Every bit of it burned. The U.S states 70% of the government corn crops burned....nobody else got anything either as evidenced by lack of shoppers at the outdoor veggie market & flea market...You know they don't accept food stamps & the majority of whites aren't working. 99.9% of the ppl walking I see on foot are white. BLKPOC know the routine & already made arrangements!😂

Gov said it is perfectly safe to use in the food supply IN PRISONS/MILITARY/FED EMPLOYEES. Are they using it in Nursing homes, hospitals, school systems? That would only be discovered by A private citizens investigation. Uh, there are films, movies that have been made…Uh, I don’t know if it’s ‘Art imitating life” orrr…Uh, order or buy…however u kids get movies these days, watch “Logan’s Run”, an old classic. It will give u context. Also, “MKULTRA”, it’s hard to ‘Know’ these atrocities are committed against BLKPOC, real hard. But you gotta know. Watch any films like that for context, but you really should get the printed form of these horrible crimes against humanity. You know whites are heavy on the re-writes, white washing to make it seem acceptable, tolerable to be done to BLKPOC.
